About the pattern

Cozy and protective, these leg warmers can be made in any length or width, to accommodate any size of leg or need.

The ribbing at the top and bottom makes them stay on and the simple rippling lace pattern adds interest.

Made in wool, they protect your legs from the mud and the splashy puddles. Enjoy walking outdoors with these on your legs or make a longer version for ballet class.

Use acrylic for easy washing or a fuzzy wool if you’d like some extra warmth around the ankles.

The pattern includes full instructions and charts for all the different sizes and a photo/graphic tutorial for seaming the leg warmers, as well as an easy read version.

Sizes

The leg warmers come in multiple sizes, based on the instructions you choose. You can make the width in between sizes by working one repeat from one size and one repeat from the next size.

Circumference:

• 1 – 24 cm / 9.5″;
• 2 – 30 cm / 11.5″;
• 3 – 36 cm / 14″;
• 4 – 45 cm / 17.5″.

Length:

• A – 18.5 cm / 17.25″;
• B – 22 cm / 8.75″;
• C – 29 cm / 11.5″;
• D – 36 cm / 14.5″;
• E – 44 cm / 17″;

Skill level

Intermediate in Tunisian crochet, due to lace that requires decreases, eyelets, working in eyelets, purl stitches.

Materials

• Yarn: Aran or worsted weight (size 4), with 160 meters per 100 grams or about 175 yards per 3.5 ounces; between 90-170 meters of yarn for a pair made in length B. Double that for length E.
• Hook: 7 mm Tunisian crochet hook with cable or long straight hook;
• Tapestry needle;
• Scissors;
• Optional: blocking mats and pins;
• Optional: elastic thread, about 75-150 cm or 30-60″ per cuff.

Easy read

The pattern comes with an easy read version for low vision users that respects the following requirements:

24 point Arial font; 26 and 28 point and bold for headings;
Black text, white background;
Left justified, 1 inch margins;
No columns;
Page numbers bottom left;
No charts required to make the pattern;
All abbreviations explained in the list.
