Description
Choose a gradient yarn cake from your stash and make yourself a simple and playful shawl that hugs your shoulders and swirls up into cute curls at the edges.
The Gooseberry marmalade shawl is beginner friendly and perfect for showing off colorful gradients. This crochet pattern comes with full instructions and a video tutorial.
This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners to intermediates, as it requires working around posts and making popcorn stitches at the edge. It is a fun project to take with you while traveling or waiting in different places, since the pattern repeat is very easy to remember and you only need to take one ball or cake of yarn with you.
The size will depend on the yarn you select. You can use any gradient yarn cake, starting at 600 meters in minimum length (like the yarn used for the first sample) for a small wrap or “triangle” scarf, going up to 1000 meters for a larger shawl.
If you want to add the border, you will need to stop when you have enough yarn for another two rows (popcorn stitches use up more yarn).
